When to go

Late March to April (cherry blossoms) and October to November are the most pleasant. June is the rainy season, and July and August are very hot and humid. Typhoons in August and September can stop flights and trains. Winter is mostly clear but cold. Prices rise over Japanese holidays (Golden Week, Obon, New Year).

Airport to the city

Meitetsu limited express (all reserved seats)

Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO) is on an artificial island. This is the fastest train to Nagoya Station, with an extra reserved-seat fee.

Time about 30 min to Nagoya StationCost about 1,200-1,500 JPY

Meitetsu regular express trains

No reserved-seat fee: slightly slower but cheaper. IC transit cards work.

Time about 35-50 min to Nagoya StationCost about 900-1,000 JPY

Airport bus

Buses run to Nagoya Station, Fushimi, Sakae and nearby cities. City-bound buses run only a few times a day, so check routes and times on the official site.
