What the two cities have in common
You can look up flights to both from Incheon and Busan (Gimhae) on the route pages below, and straight-line distances from Incheon are almost the same: about 4,630 km to Singapore and 4,610 km to Kuala Lumpur. Check schedules and flight times with the airlines (check official) and recent fares on the route pages.
Close to the equator, both are hot and humid all year with frequent showers. Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures mix in each city, so the food is wonderfully varied — satay and laksa are easy to find in hawker centres and food streets in both.
Singapore — clean, easy city travel
A clean, safe city-state with excellent public transport. Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay at night, Sentosa, Chinatown and Kampong Glam fit neatly into a short trip.
The city is about 30-45 minutes from the airport by MRT, or 20-30 minutes by taxi or ride-hailing. Submit the free official SG Arrival Card within 3 days before arrival — beware of lookalike sites that charge fees (check official ICA information for the latest rules).
Trip length: 2 to 4 days. Best for: families with children, first trips to Southeast Asia, and anyone who wants easy getting around.

Kuala Lumpur — food and great value
Skyscrapers like the Twin Towers stand alongside mosques and Chinese and Indian neighborhoods. Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, the National Mosque and the Jalan Alor food street are the classics.
The airport is a long way south of the city: about 30-35 minutes to KL Sentral by airport express train, or 50-70 minutes by ride-hailing.
Trip length: about 4 days. Best for: food lovers, budget-conscious travelers, and those curious about Islamic culture.

Visiting both
The two cities are close, so you can combine them in one trip. Check official information from each transport company for how to travel between them (flight, bus or train) and how long it takes. Flying into one city and out of the other saves backtracking.
