Phnom Penh's flights use Techo International Airport (KTI), opened on 9 September 2025. The airport is about 20 km south of the city.
Check the airport name and code (KTI) on your ticket so you don't mix it up with the old airport. There are two ways into the city: the Airport Express Bus, or a taxi or ride-hailing app.

Airport Express Bus: daily 05:30-23:30
According to the airport, the Airport Express Bus is run by Phnom Penh City Bus under the guidance of Phnom Penh City Hall. It links the airport with Kouch Kanong Circle Bus Station via Monivong Boulevard, stopping at places such as in front of Royal Cambodian Railways and the Royal University of Law and Economics.
It runs daily 05:30-23:30. Check the fare and journey time officially. Staying near Monivong Boulevard or the railway station makes bus transfers easy.

Pchum Ben and your departure day
During the Pchum Ben holiday in 2026 (9-13 October), Phnom Penh runs free buses for people travelling home, so roads and buses can be busy. The Airport Express Bus keeps running during this period.
On departure day, remember the airport is about 20 km from the city and leave plenty of time. The express bus runs until 23:30, so for a late flight have a taxi in mind too.

First afternoon: National Museum, Royal Palace, riverside Walk Street
After check-in, start at the National Museum of Cambodia, a traditional Khmer-style building. It is open daily 8:00-17:00 (last tickets 16:30); foreign adults USD 10, ages 10-17 USD 5. The visitor entrance is at the corner of Streets 13 and 178. Photography is not allowed in the galleries, only of the exterior and courtyard; leave large bags at the cloakroom by the entrance.
The Royal Palace is right next to the National Museum. Check opening hours, fees and dress rules officially.
On a weekend, stroll the riverside Walk Street in the evening. It runs from Street 94 (Baksey Chamkrong Street) to the front of the Royal Palace, with food and souvenir stalls and performances. Check the opening days and hours officially.

In the morning, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21). It is open daily 8:00-17:00 (including public holidays); foreign adults USD 5, ages 10-17 USD 3, under 10 free (ID required); cash only (riel or US dollars). The USD 5 audio guide is available in Korean, among other languages. The museum notes the exhibits may not be appropriate for visitors aged 14 and under.
The Choeung Ek Genocidal Center is about 15 km from the city; check hours and fees officially. In the afternoon, see Wat Phnom and the Independence Monument, then leave plenty of time for the airport. Check Wat Phnom's hours and fees officially too.

The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum accepts cash only (Cambodian riel or US dollars), so carry small dollar notes and some riel. At commemorative and religious sites, arms and legs should be covered.
