Harbin Taiping International Airport (HRB): your ways into the city

From Harbin Taiping International Airport (HRB) the options to plan around are the airport bus and a taxi or ride-hailing car. For a metro line to the airport, check Harbin Metro's official information before you go for whether it has opened.

Check the official information before you go for airport bus and metro times and fares. The figures on record come from Harbin Ice and Snow World's official transport guide: about 39 km and roughly 50 minutes by road from the airport to the park. Below: what to check for each option, the metro stations by area, and what to sort out on arrival day.

Airport bus: several routes, timetables on the airport's official account

Several airport bus routes run from the airport into the city. Timetables for each route are published on the airport's official social media account. Check the official information before you go for fares too.

Harbin Ice and Snow World's official transport guide lists Airport Bus Line 4 among the routes serving the park area. For where the other routes go, look at the route maps in the airport's official information and pick out one that stops near your hotel before you land.

Metro: first check whether the airport line has opened

For a metro line to the airport, check Harbin Metro's official information before you go for whether it has opened and, if so, its times and fares.

Once you are in the city, the metro is the easy way around. Lines 1, 2 and 3 form a cross plus a loop, and Line 2 has Central Street, Sun Island and Ice and Snow World stations.

Taxi or ride-hailing: about 39 km and 50 minutes to Ice and Snow World

Harbin Ice and Snow World's official transport guide puts the airport about 39 km and roughly 50 minutes by road from the park. Times to other areas depend on traffic.

Taxis are metered. A taxi or a ride-hailing app is handy with heavy luggage or a late arrival. Showing your destination in Chinese helps, so have your hotel address ready in Chinese.

For reference, Ice and Snow World's official guide gives a fare of about CNY 20 from the park to Central Street. For fares from the airport, check the official information before you go.

Which metro station for your area

If you plan to switch to the metro rather than ride all the way to your hotel, find the station for your area first. The guide covers three areas.

Songbei District is home to the Sun Island Scenic Area and, on its west side, Harbin Ice and Snow World. Airport Bus Line 4 serves the Ice and Snow World area, and Metro Line 2 has Sun Island and Ice and Snow World stations.
