Two or three nights are enough for Astana

On the first day, take the LRT in from the airport and see Bayterek, Nurzhol Boulevard and Khan Shatyr; on the second, tour the museums and monuments along Tauelsizdik Avenue. Day 2 is full of places closed on Mondays, so plan it for Tuesday to Sunday.
- Day 1: airport LRT → Bayterek → Nurzhol Boulevard → Khan Shatyr from outside → Astana Opera
- Day 2: National Museum → Hazret Sultan Mosque → Palace of Peace and Reconciliation → Kazakh Eli monument → Saken Seifullin Museum → Central Park
Winter cold: check the official forecast
Winters are harsh: the city transport operator CTS says the LRT was built for Astana's climate, including extremely low temperatures. Khan Shatyr, too, is a landmark known as an engineering answer to Astana's harsh climate.
Our guide has no monthly temperature data, though. Check temperatures and weather in the official forecast before you go. Bike sharing is described as popular in summer.
