Three ways from Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport into the city
According to our Shizuoka guide, there are three ways from Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport (FSZ) into Shizuoka: the airport access bus to JR Shizuoka Station and Shin-Shizuoka, the airport access bus to JR Shimada Station, and taxis.
Below we cover each option's stop, time, fare and what to know when you board, then where to stay, tips for the trip back to the airport and a first-day checklist. Times and fares are exactly as our guide gives them and can change, so check official information too.

Where to stay: around Shizuoka Station or in Shimizu
Our guide marks the area around Shizuoka Station and Sunpu Castle as the transport hub and the pick for a first visit. The airport bus, route buses and JR all stop here, so it is easy to get moving as soon as you step off the airport access bus. Sunpu Castle Park is about a 15-minute walk from JR Shizuoka Station, and Shizuoka Sengen Shrine and the Aoba Oden-gai alley of Shizuoka oden eateries are in this area too.
If Mt Fuji views, the port and seafood are your focus, there is also the Shimizu and Miho area with Shimizu Port and Miho no Matsubara. From the airport, a flat-fare taxi to the Shimizu Station area is JPY 14,500 (expressway tolls extra), and from Shizuoka Station the JR Tokaido Line runs toward Shimizu Station. Check official information for the time from Shizuoka Station to Shimizu Station.
