Getting from Okayama Momotaro Airport (OKJ) into town
There are three main ways into town from Okayama Momotaro Airport (OKJ): the airport limousine bus to the West Exit of Okayama Station, the airport bus to Kurashiki Station North Exit, and taxis.
When you book, first check that the arrival airport on your ticket is Okayama Momotaro Airport (OKJ). This post gives each option's time and fare, then how each one connects to the main areas and what to sort out on arrival day.
Airport limousine bus: about 30 min to Okayama Station West Exit
The airport limousine bus runs from Okayama Momotaro Airport to the West Exit of Okayama Station. It takes about 30 min and costs JPY 1,000 (children JPY 500). You can pay with a transit IC card, a dedicated ticket from the machine, or cash.
Extra buses to Okayama Station are timed to international arrivals. They are not on the timetable and leave a set time after arrival, so head straight to the bus stop.
For the trip back, the airport bus leaves from stop 21 at the West Exit of Okayama Station.

Airport bus: about 35 min to Kurashiki Station North Exit
If you want to start in Kurashiki, there is an airport bus. It runs via the expressway to Kurashiki Station North Exit without intermediate stops, takes about 35 min and costs JPY 1,400 (children JPY 700).
There is no ticket machine at Kurashiki Station North Exit, so if you board there on the way back, you pay on the bus.
The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is about a 10-minute walk from Kurashiki Station. If you go to Okayama Station first, you can also take the Sanyo Line from Okayama Station to Kurashiki Station. Check JR West timetables for train times.
Taxi: a stand at the airport, and flat-rate taxis for the return
The airport has a taxi stand. Check official information for the taxi fare and time to the city.
For the return trip, flat-rate taxis from the Okayama Station area to the airport are available by advance booking: up to JPY 7,100 per car (4 people), or up to JPY 10,200 for a jumbo taxi (9 people).
How each option connects to the main areas
Here is how you carry on to the three main areas after landing.

- Around Okayama Station: the limousine bus stops at the West Exit, and the Korakuen bus (East Exit) and the streetcar also start at the station, which makes it easy with luggage
- Korakuen & Okayama Castle: from stop 1 at the Korakuen-guchi (East Exit) bus terminal of Okayama Station, the Korakuen bus takes about 10 min; on a regular route bus, get off at Korakuen-mae (about 10-15 min). On foot it is about 25 minutes, or about 10 minutes by taxi (about 1.8 km)
- Korakuen & Okayama Castle (streetcar): about a 10-minute walk from the Shiroshita stop. The garden and castle are close together, so they are easy to see in one go
- Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter: take the airport bus to Kurashiki Station North Exit, then walk about 10 minutes. After sunset the white-walled buildings are lit up and reflected in the river, so some visitors stay a night for an evening stroll
